Theres A Time And Place For Everything

After two years of searching for a solution to the mystical Photoshop Actions thing, I'm currently in the process of going through all the templates and actions, and testing every step the Photoshop Actions take in order to correct the way the actions play out.

I've been talking with two Adobe Engineers about why the Photoshop Actions make the designs turn out jiggy and totally out of place.

So, instead of more testing, I decided to move forward and make brand new, never seen before CD Cover Designs for Digipack kits and a Thin Spine CD Jewel Case design. A total of 4 different action sets. All look incredible and work flawlessly. Each have been tested vigorously in PS2.

Making these work just as well in other versions of Photoshop will happen soon.

While making the new CD Cover Designs and working though the Photoshop Actions, I uncovered a solution to one bug, and uncovered another. As a result, I've totally re-recorded and streamlined the actions for Grant's DVD Cover Designs. They are faster, and even more stable than ever!

Also, the reworked DVD Cover Designs work flawlessly in Photoshop CS2 & Photoshop 7.

You'll be seeing more unique cover design solutions and updates very soon

John Nack on Adobe: Yes, CS3 can be tested cross-platform: "
January 04, 2007
Yes, CS3 can be tested cross-platformIn response to very popular demand (to the tune of 150 requests on the Labs CS3 forum), I'm happy to say that Adobe is now making it possible for Windows customers of Photoshop CS2 to get a Mac CS3 beta serial number, and vice versa. To request a number, you can send mail to photoshopcs3beta@adobe.com "

Is It That Time Of Year Again?..Time For A Huge Update

This is going to be a long post.

A few weeks ago, I made the folks at Computer City a little nervous.

I came walking in the door with my best FearBites T-Shirt on, armed with a metal ruler, an Adobe Photoshop pen and my spiral notbook...I think they thought that I was a vender that came to measure their boxes.

Actually yes...that's exactly what I did!

Anyway, after spending about 45 minutes there (without buying even a single pack of gum) I came back to the home office with some great ideas. The point of this retail visit was more of a follow up on some very important research on compeditors who also make Cover Designs. In fact, before my visit, I spent most of the previous week researching the other cover designs that are availble on the internet.

I dug deep...I won't get into the details here because my stomach is rumbling for a PB&J sammich.

Just let me introduce to you (yes, you) the most photo-realistic, the highest quality and most flexible assortment of product cover solutions available today! And yes, after 4 long months it's FINALLY here!

People with Photoshop CS that are more familar with actions & image editing can make those minor adjustments in little time. Read the full report here- software cover design

Also, for the individual Cover Designs like the DVD Covers, Software Boxes & eBooks, they now come bundled with updated CD Disc Covers, and I'll be making those available soon.

Exsisting customers who still have the older versions of DVD, CD, and eBook Cover Designs can upgrade to the new covers for free, and also have access to the new members area.

That's it for now, and thanks for your comments! Keep them coming:)

Cheers,

Well, after getting stuck in Googles notorius sandbox, Design By Grant has FINALLY gone from a PR0 Site Ranking, to a PR5 Site Ranking.

Actually, it's been a common thread in various SEO Forums, and several Search Engine news websites, that webmasters are fairly pissed-off when spending so much effort to get thier websites listed...if even noticed by Google.

My experience has been knowledge filled, but still have yet to get Google to notice my keywords of choice.

While four of my keywords are in the top 5 on MSN Search (two of which as of this posting are at #1) Google is snubbing it's nose at them, and are probably placing somewhere around 12,034.

So, Google...the battle is not over. Tally-ho.

New Update For DVD Cover Art, CD Covers, and Ebook Covers

Yea, it's been a while, and more developments are on the way.
Since my last post around Christmas time, I've done massive amounts of research on this little market for DVD Cover Art, CD Covers, and ebook cover art..

So, alot of changes have been made with my dvd, cd, and ebook cover designs. I've listened to good advice and bad, I've read litteraly hundreds of articles on online marketing techniques, marketing briefs, and came to one solid conclusion...I have a headache.

No really, my next task in the coming weeks is to contact Guinnis Book of World Records, and find out if I qualilfy for Most information learned in 3 months...I feel like I gave birth to 20 marketing executives...ouch.

Anyway, heres the deal, folks. Since I'm now an expert in online marketing, I've divided the cover designs into seperate kits. One for DVD/CD covers, one for the CD Covers, and one kit for the eBook covers. The result?

People are taking to them like a catfish takes to chicken liver. In other words (from the people who don't know how to fish) people love the idea enough to buy them. I'm a happy guy.

More to come
